Achieving Vision, Mission and Goals

Should you invest in writing your life purpose, vision, values and goals?

You bet! If you do, you will increase by 90% the probability of being who you want to be ... also achieving the goals you desire in different dimensions of your life ... family, career, health, financial, social, intellectual, and recreational.

Your life vision is what you uniquely can be and do on a particular "playing field" of life that supports you in effectively carrying out your life purpose. This ideal "playing field" is where your natural talents, interests and motivations can harmoniously come together within the parameters of your life vision. It's where you can make highly productive contributions to your own well-being, your family's, and that of the people and customers who are integral to the organizations that employ them.

You will learn how to ...

  • Develop a clear picture in your mind and write a statement of your life vision.
  • Check your commitment to making your vision become a reality.
  • Assess the compatibility of your life vision with that of your organization.
  • Use the wonderful mechanism in your brain (called the reticular activating system) to achieve your vision and its accompanying goals.
  • Develop your personal life vision statement.
  • Use a "quiet time" strategy to do some open-ended writing that will facilitate the development of worthwhile life vision, mission, and goal statements.
  • Use specific questions to help you envision and think through what you want to include in the mission, goals, and objectives for the different dimensions of your life.
