Computer Environment Ethics

Can you build and maintain high standards of ethical conduct among staff?

Yes! Leaders within computer environments who develop, facilitate and manage the implementation of ethical standards for conduct and mutual accountability processes in their spheres of leadership stand out as invaluable resources. They tend to keep their positions in tough times because their department's productivity is high.

You can learn how to move your people from the present day operational paradigm of Conditional Integrity to one of Intentional Integrity. You can help your staff members learn to apply Intentional Integrity to the use of computers and software and information services. The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) code of ethics will be used.

You will learn how to ...

  • Assess the ethical and economical impacts of fraud, theft and wrongdoing in a computer system environment. (Federal Sentencing Guidelines and issues of fines and imprisonment will be addressed)
  • Implement the processes and gain the benefits of developing and distributing a personal code of conduct and credos based on your operating values.
  • Assess, develop and communicate ethical standards for conduct in ways that will help you strengthen your organization's people, processes and policies.
  • Organize a Personal Accountability Commitment Team (PACT) process to deter fraud, theft and impropriety that can lead to fines for companies and jail terms for top managers and executives under Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
  • Use the ProActive Interview and Selection Process to obtain the top 20% of performers of high character, competence and commitment.
