A. Ask questions Brainstorm to come up with questions
which will explore the passage. Use who, what, where, when, and why
questions. Get at least four questions. Then work at answering your own
questions. Extensive and comprehensive question asking is a key to
insightful Bible study. E. Emphasis What are some of the main ideas or
emphases of the passage. Select two key words and write definitions of
them. I. In your own words Rewrite the verse in your own words.
Personalize using your own name, or personal pronouns I, my, me. O. Other Truths List two cross-reference verses which
help explain the truth of the verse being studied. These could be an
example, a parallel truth, an illustration, a contrasting thought. Write a
few words which explain how each of these verses relate. It is said that
the best commentary on the Bible is the Bible itself. U. Use Put the truth into action in your life
by prayerfully letting God bring to mind some practical steps in which you
can specifically obey the passage. Suggested outline:
